Long Drawn Out Day.

Today I was a bit late in realizing that I hadn't been drinking water. In fact I didn't realize it until I was a while into boot camp. I started to fill ill from all of the water I was drinking while there. It's never good to have water sitting in your stomach as you try to push yourself physically. Another lesson that goes along with that is to eat a proper meal before going. I'll explain my intake today and you'll see what I mean.

I started my day out as I normally do. A bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios with vanilla rice milk. I measured out the cheerios after I poured them to see where I had been hitting and it's 1 cup. I haven't measured the milk yet. That's going to take a different process to figure out. It'll be easy, but just more effort than I felt like taking this morning.

My next meal came about 4 hours later (cutting it a bit too close). I had left the office and got Thai food. It's a bit of a ritual with me to the point of when I walk in the lady there asks, "same thing?" Well "same thing" consists of a half Thai bbq chicken, egg fried rice (only egg and rice), and Thai iced tea. Not the best meal for me, but it only happens once every two weeks. I only say not the best meal due to the Thai tea. Everything else is fairly standard for me.

I had to meet up with someone that had been doing work at my office all day. We had questions for each other, but I had a couple of appointments I had to go to first. It made me a bit late in getting back to the office. I only include this because it sets up why my next meal was poorly executed.

While talking to the person in my office I ran over to make myself a cup of green tea with clover honey. I have recently re-read about the benefits of green tea, and about how it's a good idea to drink it a few hours before working out. It gives enough energy to allow the body to step up and work a bit harder as well as a nice minor cleanse of the system.

I was stuck at the office for a while and sadly I only had enough time to eat a green's plus bar. Realistically, I should have eaten a proper meal before heading to work out, but I figured something was better than nothing. Once again this was cutting the food process down to the wire. I should have had the bar within two and a half hours of the last meal, but it was around 4 hours instead.

I hit boot camp and soon felt like I was dying. As I mentioned before I hadn't drink enough water for the day (about 3/4 of a litre for the day up until that point). I drink about a litre in half the time of the course. This weighed heavy on me. Congestion also made it a bit rough on the breathing, but I got through it the best I could. I can feel myself getting stronger and tell that I'm doing more than when I first started. It's a process though. It hasn't helped that I wasn't able to go consistly in the last few weeks, but today was my second session in a row (they train roughly every other day).

On another night in which I'm not soon to fall asleep I'll describe some of the exercises we go through.

For my last meal I heated up the other half of my food from yesterday. I had two tacos and a little less than a cup of rice. There was some left over that I took a few bites of later in the evening too. Once again, it was later than I should have eaten.

Since I've been home from boot camp I've drank about another litre of fluids (water and propel).

I have more to say, but I'm falling asleep. It's time to call it a night.
