Today was what seems to be turning into our weekly bike ride. We tend to head out to the bike path and ride out at the beach for hours.
Since we were getting a start earlier than I'd normally like, I kinda rushed my way out of the door this morning. I had to make sure I had enough energy to ride. I cut my bowl of cereal in half and then added a protein shake. Part of the lighter meal was that I knew were planned on grabbing food early into the ride.
A few hours passed before were actually started to ride. So by the time we were getting started I was quite hungry. We stopped at a place that was basically a roach coach, but it was in an actual building. I had two chicken soft tacos with cheese and salsa. It was pretty decent and would hold me over for a while.
Our ride consisted a lot of back and forth and meeting up with others. Once we finally found each other we went for the long haul part of our ride. We had done about 6 miles, and we were about to hit up 12+ miles in a single run (with a couple of breaks lasting a few minutes). My friend pointed out that my seat was too low and I realized he was right. I raised the seat and my ride became a lot easier. My knee was in pain before that.
Towards the end of that trip...well technically it was half way, but I don't count it as half way since going back is more of a slight downhill ride. Very slight, but much quicker. Anyways, at about half way we all decided we were fairly hungry. We were going to go further up the beach, but there were no paths to get to them. We would have had to ridden on the road, and that's not even safe to drive on usually. It was then time to hurry up and head back so we could eat.
By the time we hit the base of our area two of the people had to leave. So the rest of us went to a place that we'd been to before seperately, but none of us really enjoyed it this time. But while there I had a burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, bbq sauce, and half of a baked potato. I had a strong desire for red meat and felt the burger was a must.
We made it back to the cars and packed up, and then we killed a few hours. We were all fairly full, but some other people called us to meet up with them. Unfortunately it was at a pizza joint. I ended up eating two slices of cheese pizza and 6 hot wings with blue cheese dressing.
Currently I'm having a few sunflower seeds and then I'm heading to bed. I plan to stay in doors all day.

pizza and burger. alot like my weekend. btw, why do you eat cheese, but not drink milk?
ReplyDeleteStraight up milk doesn't do great with me. I mean it doesn't do horribly, but not great. It's pretty hit and miss. Also, the rice milk is much healthier than the cow milk. And any possible vitamins I could be missing are being process through vitamins.
